1 Corinthians 1:16-17
In verse one we read that Paul was called to be an apostle, verse seventeen tells us he was not sent to baptize but to preach. So why do we have our pastors baptizing today?
Paul says he was not sent to preach in cleverness of speech. To do that would make the cross of Christ void. How? Was it because people would pay more attention to Paul and not to his message?
I think of Moses and his excuses to God about why he felt he had to tell God “no”. In Exodus 4:10, Moses pleads with the Lord, “I am not eloquent….I am slow of speech and tongue.” Moses growing up in Pharaoh’s house was a highly educated man. God plucked him from the palace and not the slums. He was a card-carrying member of the upper crust of Egyptian society.

The girlies and I had an exhausting day yesterday. A productive day but exhausting none-the-less. Yawn. In fact I’m rather surprised but both girls are still in bed sleeping. And I’m ready to run. Sigh.
