I went to the doctor on Friday and I found out I’m sicker than I thought. I knew I had the flu but thought I’d be right as rain in a couple of days. Well Friday was more than a couple of days past when I first felt ill and I definitely was not right as rain.
It took a dear friend to call and tell me to haul my sorry self into the doctor. Okay she was convinced I had H1N1 and would die at any moment. I called. I told them I was on upswing but did he want to see me? Of course he did. Not because he get so much money out of us, nor because he has a sick desire to cause us pain, but he really likes us.
I lost 2.5 pounds between Tuesday and Friday afternoon. I do not have H1N1. I do have Influenza Type A. Lovely. I was given a prescription for Tamilfu and bed rest for my cure.
Yes, bed rest. I have to be in bed, on the couch or recliner for a week. A whole week. I am managing my time okay. I have finally managed to get caught up on my bejeweled blitz game, my solitare game, my reading and my staring dumbly out the window. I also contacted a couple of people to arrange for meals. For my family. I can’t exactly cook while in bed.
Today the phone rang and it was the girl bringing tonight’s fair. I told her of course it was fine that she bring it a little early. When she rang the doorbell 30 minutes later, I hobbled to the door. (as only one who has been in bed 7 days already and staring at at least 3-4 more days can hobble.) The look on her face was priceless.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? Aren’t you supposed to be on bed rest?”
“Uhm, I live here and yes I am on bed rest but you rang the doorbell. I had to answer the door.”
I am sure she expected Dear Man to answer at least that is what I’m hoping she was expecting.
i am very sorry to hear that you are sick. i’ll be praying for a speedy recovery.

hope you get well soon, and don’t beat my bejeweled blitz score while bed-resting! 😉 Let me know if you have a night where you don’t have a meal coming, maybe I can bring one. hugs
