Laundry Line Blues

It seems I’ll never learn. Today is cloudy, breezy and chilly. Yet what have I done?

Laundry.

Not that doing laundry is a bad thing. Not at all. We all have to do laundry at some point in time. The trouble is, I’m cheap. I’m very cheap. During the Spring, Summer and Fall months I like to hang my clothes outside to dry. Because it costs money to use my clothes dryer and hanging them outside is free.

I like free.

However, when it is cloudy, breezy and cold my fingers freeze hanging the wet clothes on the line. ย I find myself doing this over and over.

Maybe it should just be sunny and warm when I hang clothes outside. If only I controlled the weather.

  1. Ha! Glad I stumbled on this today.. I love hanging my laundry out too, but you’ll never find me outside doing it when my fingers will freeze. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a summertime luxury around here!

    You’re a brave woman. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Don’t use the word cheap. Use the word frugal. If more people were frugal there would be a lot less complaining about not having money to spend on what they need. It has only been about a year since I had to quit hanging my clothes on the clothes line. When I look up I fall over backwards so now use the dryer. Keep on being frugal as long as you can. It pays off in later years.

  3. it’s awesome that you actually hang the clothes no matter the effort it takes, to me you are not being ‘cheap’, but are persevering! Good for you, most of us would skip it on those cloudy days. ๐Ÿ™‚
