Teaching a pig to sing

I’ve been rather MIA online for a few days….weeks. I’ve had a bit of a trouble sleeping, it seems between the computer, phone, nook, exercising before bed, busy schedule and built-in internal inferno, my body has conspired against me. Sleep just wasn’t happening.

Which is most likely a bad, very, very, VERY bad thing. If you know me, you know I require my sleep. Gone, long gone are the days when I could easily stay up until the wee hours (3-4) of the morning and be up, bright eyed and bushy tailed by 7am. Those days are so far gone I can’t see any part of them.

Anyway, note to self:

Do NOT under any circumstances attempt to get caught up on the happenings on facebook.

It won’t work. It’s a lot like trying to teach a pig to sing. It won’t work and will annoy the pig.

Not that I’m a pig.

But I was told by a friend, (yes, he still is a friend) on Sunday, “Thank YOU for not singing.”

Now lest anyone thinks I’m lying by not telling the background. My friend walked past and commented to a friend I was talking with, “Thank you for singing.” He didn’t specify which of us he was talking to, but since she was on the praise team, and I am not. We knew he meant her, so I just said, “He means you.” And then he pointed at me and said, “Thank you for not singing.”

And that is that.

Tomorrow there are some exciting plans afoot at my house. But I’m not at liberty to say what they are exactly. So you’ll just have to wait. And see if I decide to tell the world.

Oh going back to the whole sleeping thing. I’ve also had a birthday…so age might be playing a factor too. Old  people don’t sleep as much, right???
