Everything I learned…

I learned in kindergarten. Remember that book? It came out when I was in the midst of my I-know-it-all-I’m-smarter-than-everyone-stage of life. And it peeved me that some adult was able to write a book saying everything he learned, all he needed to know in life, he learned in kindergarten.

And I was still expected to finish high school.

Doesn’t seem quite fair does it?

I’ve learned a lot since kindergarten, and I’ve learned a lot in the last week. For example, I learned that if you put me in an office for two days, then give me a couple of days to paint half of my house my blog posts become scarce.

I further learned if you put me in an office for two days, give me a couple of days to paint half of the interior of my house, and still expect me to get everything done that I normally do, blog posts become really scarce.

I learned still more, if you put me in an office for two days, give me a couple of days to paint half of the interior of my home, expect me to get everything done that I normally do and shove in a few extra non-consequential errands, like getting groceries and cooking, then blog posts become extremely rare.

So now you know.

My house is “show ready”, or at least that is what I keep telling myself. It’s not perfect and I still have more painting to do. But for the most part it’s ready.

As long as we ignore the unfinished laundry room and the back porch. Now as soon as Mr. FullCup repairs the drywall in the laundry room, and I finish painting that room is good to go.

The back porch, however, I’m thinking it might just need a big match. Or a small one with a big flame.  I thought it could easily be fixed with a sheet or two of drywall (why do some people call it sheet rock?? While it is a sheet, it’s definitely not rock.), hahaha what was I smoking?

It’s ugly. It will always be ugly.

Sigh.

Hope the new owners like ugly back porches.

Oh, the dreams and plans we had for that room….13 years ago.

I’m thinking now they won’t happen. I had dreams of a greenhouse like room. I planned at one point to make it a laundry room and convert the present laundry room to a master bathroom.

I didn’t.

This will be abrupt, but I just realized the time….

  1. Thanks for your comment on my blog… I guess I should have clarified what I meant by “shirt sleeve weather”. Here in Colorado, after the cold we’ve had this winter, shirt sleeve weather is anything over about 45 degrees. It felt downright balmy today!. 😉 Did you have shirt sleeve weather too?

    1. Hahaha. Yeah I know. The other day I was getting gas and it was 20 above zero! Above! Oh my. I wore just a hoodie it felt so nice! (Well, I was fully clothed in clothes, not just a hoodie. That would be a little more than a little embarrassing!)

  2. My book would have to be: Everything I learned, I learned the hard way. After I messed up several times. And I still don’t have it down.
